Train your underwater time with us and benefit from the advantages it gives for surfing.

Maybe you saw the Netflix movie “The Deepest Breath” and it either inspired you or made you scared. Training apnea is really safe if you apply the right techniques.

Learning to stay underwater is something that a surfer (or any other watersporter) can truly benefit from. How long you can stay underwater has to do with your C02 Tolerance, your lung capacity, and not to mention your mindset. Unfortunately, staying underwater is not only a matter of how long you can do without oxygen.

In fact, the Wim Hof breathing techniques are not recommended for underwater use. Worse yet it can even become dangerous.

How to learn to stay underwater without blackout will be taught by our own Nanja van den Broek who is a World Record Holder Freediving and went down 130 meters. (In another discipline then in the movie.)

Nanja uses a special technique to prevent blackouts. So, for sure she has the safest tools for anyone out there underwater in the ocean.

Here is an interview with Nanja about the movie:

Come and train with us Surf Apnea.

What is the difference between Surf Apnea 1.0 and 2.0

Surf Apnea 1.0

How to stay longer underwater without stress or anxiety is the focus of Surf Apnea 1.0.

To get more comfortable underwater. It helps you to deal with wipe-outs. How to stay calm underwater and to learn in safe circumstances how long your underwater time can be.

For those who hesitate to take certain waves or had have a bad wipe-out experience. Learn to increase lung capacity and set your first personal record of underwater time. It’s also a perfect practice if you experience fear in surfing.

Surf Apnea 2.0

If you already have done Surf Apnea 1.0 or you are familiar with freediving this is going to be your next step.

In Surf Apnea 2.0 we work on building more resilience underwater, expanding lung capacity, and wipe-out simulation and we will do a “rock run”- walking with a (heavy)weight underwater.

The focus of this clinic is training your lung capacity and bringing your overall fitness to a higher level. To surf wave after wave, wipe -out after wipe-out.

Online Surf Fit Training

Every Wednesday evening 19:30 -20:30  (AMS time zone)

This week we started the Surf Fit Training for the first time online.

And it was a success.  The participants gathered at the Vondelpark to do the workout together. But of course, you can join from your own “home” wherever it is to stay surf fit.

Every week we dedicated to a specific surf movement, mostly starting with mobility exercises to get warmed up and towards the end, we create more pace and strength.

To make sure you leave the work-out sweaty and satisfied.

Because we are starting online, I was able to drop the price to €12,50.
